Lesson of the day

Don't wash trainers in a washing machine. They shrink. Big time. So if anybody wants some second-hand, but exceptionally clean, trainers let me know. Can't even get my toes through the bastards now!

ehhehe.. so trainers are shoes? Thanks for the info. I thought they were underwears or something...

That really sucks and I bet you paid good money for them too.

I was not a happy bunny. One pair was my first London Marathon pair so had a certain sentimental value. I think my face was probably a picture as I tried to get my feet into them for the first time post-wash. A look of surprise, consternation, anger and sadness.

Rasta - I have boat-sized feet so I think my Pumas have probably only shrunk to about a 9. Can you collect? And do you have some thick socks you could wear with them? :)

Cedia - not underwear. I think the story would have been a bit different/more painful. :)

You really really shouldn't wash trainers in the washing machine cos it also breaks up the glue thats used to keep the soles on them, and thats how they end up falling to bits so fast.

What I want to know is why they haven't invented an effective cleaner for trainers yet. Cos trainers do get bloody mucky!
